2026 BYD YangWang U9 Track Edition

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China has unveiled specifications for the Yangwang U9 Track Edition electric supercar in its latest vehicle catalogue.

This high-performance variant boasts a four-motor system with each motor outputting 555 kW, culminating in a combined power of 2,220 kW (3,019 metric horsepower).

The Track Edition maintains the design elements of the standard U9, with enhancements including a carbon-fibre roof, rear wing, and adjustable rear diffuser blades. It is equipped with 20-inch wheels and 325/35 R20 tyres, and optional aerodynamic components are available.

The vehicle’s dimensions are detailed, with a length between 4,966 and 4,991 mm, a width of 2,029 mm, and a height ranging from 1,311 to 1,351 mm, sitting on a 2,900 mm wheelbase.

The kerb weight is 2,480 kg, and the total vehicle mass is 2,630 kg. While the current U9 uses an 80 kWh battery for a 450 km range and supports up to 500 kW DC fast-charging, the Track Edition’s battery specifications are yet to be disclosed.

The U9 previously set a Chinese production-car speed record and achieved a notable lap time at the Nürburgring.

The new Track Edition’s power output surpasses that of electric hypercars like the Lotus Evija and Rimac Nevera. Market launch details for the Track Edition remain undisclosed.
