Aston Martin looks ready to turn the Vantage Roadster into a serious open-top track weapon.
The upcoming Vantage RS Roadster has been spotted testing at the Nürburgring with some pretty extreme aero upgrades. Up front, there’s a larger splitter with vortex generators, while wider side skirts, lightweight wheels, carbon-ceramic brakes, and performance tires give away its track-focused intentions.
But the biggest change is at the rear. Instead of the clean decklid you’d normally expect on an Aston convertible, the prototype wears a massive swan-neck rear wing inspired by GT3 race cars.
The exhaust setup has changed too. Earlier Vantage RS coupe prototypes were seen with eight temporary exhaust tips, but this car uses a much cleaner center-exit quad exhaust, leaving more room for a larger and more effective rear diffuser.
Under the hood should be a hotter version of Aston Martin’s AMG-sourced 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. The Vantage S already makes 670 hp, while the RS is rumored to push output into the 700-hp range.
Rear-wheel drive and a ZF automatic transmission are expected to remain, but with more aggressive chassis, suspension, and transmission tuning.
Both the Vantage RS Coupe and Roadster are expected to debut by spring 2027, with deliveries potentially beginning that summer.
A 700-hp, rear-wheel-drive Aston convertible with a GT3-style wing? This could get interesting.
