Peugeot could completely reinvent the 308 for its next generation.
Instead of another traditional hatchback, Peugeot is considering a roughly 4.4-meter (173-inch) coupe-SUV fastback, essentially a smaller 408 aimed at filling the gap between hatchbacks and SUVs.
It would use Stellantis’ new STLA One platform, designed for both EV and hybrid powertrains, with cell-to-body battery construction and steer-by-wire technology.
Peugeot believes the more aerodynamic fastback shape could also give the electric version more than the 435-mile WLTP range of today’s 3008 Long Range.
Nothing is confirmed yet, though. Peugeot is still evaluating different body styles, with the first of its next C-segment models expected in late 2029, followed by others in 2030.
