Hyundai’s new large electric SUV is expected to debut later this year.
The Hyundai Ioniq 7 is the third-row crossover that will serve as the foundation of the automaker’s electric SUV lineup. It is based on the Kia EV9, which also makes use of the expanded E-GMP platform. The new SUV resembles its Kia cousin and the renderings we saw last year, according to the spy photographs. The front and back will have a different design, judging by the covers over the front and rear fascias, even though the body and roofline appear similar to the EV9.
Hyundai Ioniq 7 retains original concept styling, but deletes extreme styling details. Hyundai’s Ioniq 7 will offer a “new dimension of space” with an extended 126-inch wheelbase, a tall roof, and a flat floor.
It will also have three drivetrain versions, including single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive.
The production vehicle is expected to have a 100-kilowatt-hour battery offering 300 miles of range and a combined output of 308 horsepower.

Hyundai Ioniq 7 camouflage model spotted…huge ‘hunk’ eyes!
The key to the exterior design is a smooth, curve-oriented silhouette. Unlike the boxy EV9, the Ioniq 7 takes its design cues from MPVs like the Citroen Spacetourer and Hyundai Staria. The lines flow from the bonnet, through the A-pillar, and onto the roof, while the trunk end drops off at a sharp right angle, creating a sense of speed.
The front end is mostly hidden by the camouflage, but the unique lamp design in the form of a cube stands out. This is the same as the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6. The tail lamps are also vertical, and the turn signals are integrated into the lamps rather than the bumper. It looks similar to the Concept Seven that was unveiled at the Seoul Mobility Show. Although no detailed specifications such as body size were revealed, the overall ‘size’ of the car is similar to the Palisade.
This streamlined design is effective in reducing drag. This is why we expect a more generous range than the EV9. The wheels appear to be the base model’s design, with reduced openings for aerodynamic performance. The model pictured is paired with Kumho tires.
Meanwhile, the production IONIQ 7 is expected to arrive in the first half of next year.
