Six-seat variants command a premium, starting at ₩69.03 million and topping out at ₩79.41 million. Design and Aerodynamics Hyundai’s designers have achieved a remarkable blend of form and function with what they call “Aerosthetic” design. The IONIQ 9 features industry-first dual-motion active air flaps in the front bumper, contributing to an impressive drag coefficient of 0.259 for a large SUV (on 19-inch wheels with digital side mirrors). The exterior incorporates Hyundai’s signature Parametric Pixel lighting elements front and rear, while a gently curved roofline ensures generous headroom throughout. A first for Hyundai, the hidden antenna maintains the clean aesthetic of the vehicle’s profile. Interior Space and Versatility With dimensions measuring 5,060mm in length, 3,130mm in wheelbase, 1,980mm in width, and 1,790mm in height, the IONIQ 9 offers class-leading second and third-row space. The flat floor architecture, enabled by the E-GMP platform, maximizes interior room. The cabin can be configured with four different seating layouts, including three six-seat and one seven-seat option. First-row occupants enjoy relaxation seats with leg rests and an ergonomic motion driver’s seat. Second-row options include premium relaxation seats, swiveling seats, and dynamic bodycare seats for six-seat models, while seven-seat versions feature a 60:40 split-folding bench. The Universal Island 2.0 console can slide up to 190mm rearward and features bi-directional opening, serving both front and rear passengers. A panoramic curved display combines twin 12.3-inch screens for the digital cluster and infotainment system. Performance and Range The IONIQ 9 offers multiple powertrain configurations. The rear-wheel-drive efficiency model delivers 160kW (214 hp) and 350Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque, achieving 4.3km/kWh efficiency and 532km (330 miles) of range on 19-inch wheels. The all-wheel-drive version comes in two variants: a range-focused model producing 226kW (303 hp) and 605Nm (446 lb-ft) of torque, and a performance version generating 315kW (422 hp) and 700Nm (516 lb-ft). Both AWD variants maintain efficiency of 4.1km/kWh and offer over 500km (310 miles) of range on 21-inch wheels. The 800V electrical architecture enables ultra-fast charging, with the ability to charge from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes using a 350kW charger. Technology and Safety The IONIQ 9 comes standard with Hyundai’s latest advanced driver assistance systems, including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Highway Driving Assist 2. The new ccNC (connected car Navigation Cockpit) infotainment system features generative AI technology for natural language processing and enhanced user interaction. Additional features include 100W USB-C charging ports, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, a triple-camera cleaning system, digital side mirrors, and over-the-air update capability for both navigation and vehicle control systems. Customers can also access the Bluelink Store to add features post-purchase, including Remote Smart Parking Assist 2, additional lighting patterns, display themes, and virtual gear shift simulation. With its combination of space, technology, and efficiency, the IONIQ 9 represents Hyundai’s vision for the future of premium electric SUVs, offering a compelling alternative in the increasingly competitive luxury EV segment.
