Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Gets Hardcore Nürburgring Test Car
Just weeks after unveiling the all-electric AMG GT 4-Door, Mercedes-AMG is already testing what appears to be an even more track-focused version at the Nürburgring.
The prototype stands out with several aggressive upgrades:
- Massive hood extraction vents reminiscent of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS
- Large fixed rear wing with prominent endplates
- Roll cage visible inside, hinting at serious track intentions
- Additional aerodynamic tweaks that suggest a significant performance focus
It’s still unclear whether this is an entirely new flagship model—possibly AMG’s first EV Black Series—or a factory performance package for the AMG GT 63. Either way, the extensive aero upgrades suggest AMG is targeting higher circuit performance, potentially taking aim at Nürburgring lap records.
The standard AMG GT 63 already delivers up to 1,153 hp and 1,475 lb-ft (2,000 Nm) of torque, so any hotter version would push Mercedes-AMG even further into hyper-EV territory.
