The new Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 will be powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine that will break the 600bhp barrier and will feature 48-volt light-hybrid (MHEV) technology .

All this will be handled through a nine-speed automatic gearbox and a 4x4 drive system . Being a light hybrid vehicle, it will wear the ECO environmental label of the DGT (General Directorate of Traffic) with all the mobility advantages that this entails.

The new Mercedes GLE will be presented in the middle of this year. It remains to be seen if the AMG variants debut with the standard model or we will have to wait a few more months to meet the new Mercedes-AMG GLE. In any case, it will land in dealerships as a 2023 model.

Prototypes of the updated mid-size SUV were spotted testing with nearly undisguised exteriors and heavily camouflaged interiors. Prototypes for an updated GLE-Class Coupe are also out testing. Both body styles should arrive around the same time.

Inside the heavily camouflaged prototypes we see a new steering wheel. Interestingly, it’s the new steering wheel design found in the 2021 S-Class rather than the twin-spoke steering wheel found in the latest E-Class. The overall dashboard design doesn’t appear to be changed. Expect the latest iteration of Benz’s MBUX infotainment system, though the dual 12.3-inch screens on the dashboard for the gauge cluster and infotainment are likely to carry over.

Expect the powertrains to mostly carry over. The base engine should be a 2.0-liter turbo-4. A 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 should sit above this, and a beefed-up version of the inline-6 with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology should feature in the updated AMG GLE 53 model. A 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8, possibly with some form of electrification, should feature in the updated GLE 63 from AMG. All engines will be mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission.

A full suite of Mercedes’ latest driver-assistance systems will be available including the ability for the vehicle to steer itself in low-speed traffic. A hands-off, eyes-off self-driving system for traffic jams may be offered. The new system debuts on the S-Class in some markets early next year.

2023 Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Spied Hiding The Smallest Of Facelifts

Road test spy photos of the new Mercedes-Benz GLE plug-in hybrid model.
The new vehicle will adapt and optimize the exterior, interior, and other features as a mid-term facelift model.

The new car’s front portion has some camouflage applied to it for aesthetic purposes. After the mid-term facelift, we anticipate the Mercedes-Benz GLE to make a few little changes to the headlights. The side of the body keeps the GLE’s current body configuration.
The new vehicle comes with a little roof spoiler and rear wiper on the back. To retain the existing design of the Mercedes-Benz family and enhance recognition, the taillight group will also go through some optimization and adjustment at the same time. Furthermore, there aren’t many differences between the new car’s rear surround lights and the present model.
Inside the new Hyundai Ioniq concept, we see a double-feeding bottle structure connected with a full LCD instrument panel and a central control multimedia touch screen, and is equipped with a three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel. In terms of power, the new car is expected to still use a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 2T turbocharged engine + electric motor.
