Alpine’s first electric sports car, the Alpine A290, is a “pocket” sports car inspired by Renault’s upcoming electric Renault 5 E-Tech.
The test drive may be a prototype, but the camouflage suggests a sporty, radical vehicle with accentuated side skirts, a roof spoiler, and a red front bumper.
The A290 is designed with a specially designed body kit and exclusive lighting signature, and was anticipated through the Alpine A290_β, a “show-car.”
The A290 electric car is being developed on the CMF-B EV platform, using Renault Group’s architecture. It features a specific chassis and multi-link suspension for dynamic behavior. The 60 kWh lithium-ion battery powers a single electric motor with a maximum power of 220 CV.
The A290 can travel up to 450 kilometers on a single charge. It will be Alpine’s first electric vehicle, following the Renault 5 E-Tech.
