The second car under the BYD F-brand was supposed to be this electric pickup truck.
Two drivetrain options
The pickup EV will offer two drivetrain options: pure EV and PHEV, built on BYD’s plugin hybrid solutions DM-i, DM-p, or e4. These are front-wheel and 4WD vehicles, respectively.
According to Sina, the new electric pickup truck will be fitted with the DiSus-P suspension system from BYD, smart rearview mirrors, and Huawei’s AR-HUD. China does not allow the use of electronic mirrors, but that will change on July 1 when the regulator approves the sale of vehicles with this function. On the right side of the bed, there are additionally two sockets.
The upcoming plug-in hybrid dual-cab ute from Chinese electric-car specialist BYD has been spotted testing in Australia ahead of showroom arrivals next year.
The BYD Shark’s exterior design is a bold and wild appeal. From the front, a large square-shaped grille with a huge BYD logo demands attention. The rectangular headlights, equipped with LED daytime running lights, add a touch of sophistication. A silver trim on the lower bumper amplifies the rugged off-road vibe.
Muscular wheel arches house two-tone alloy wheels and flat-profile tires. The elevated ground clearance instills confidence, ready to conquer any rough terrain. Moving to the rear, the connected LED taillight is striking. The rectangular light clusters harmonize with the front-end styling, completing the Shark’s unique identity.
Various exterior accessories like side steps, a roof rack, and a roll bar fully embrace the outdoor spirit. It’s impossible not to fall for the Shark’s untamed charm, ready to pounce at any moment.
The BYD Shark awakens the hidden off-road instincts. It’s a pickup that stimulates the urge to leave the city behind and charge into the wild. For those with a daring spirit and a free soul, is there a better companion than the Shark? BYD’s new pickup sends a clear message: “Ready to feel the adrenaline of a bumpy ride?”
