The Chery TJ-1, as it is known internally, was observed on Chinese streets. It is advertised as a “light off-road” vehicle as a new compact SUV under the Chery name. Chery is currently looking for input from the public to help name its TJ-1, which is scheduled to launch later in July. As “the sole four-wheel drive in the 100,000 RMB (14,500 USD) class,” Chery also marketed the TJ-1.
The massive rectangular front grille is complemented by chrome decorations in the shape of scales and blackened grid pieces, giving the automobile a commanding appearance. After being lighted, the upper headlight group is arranged in a matrix.
4515/1865/1680mm in length, and a wheelbase of 2675mm. It features pop-out door handles and a suspended roof design from the side. It rides on five-spoke blade-style rims.
Large rear spoiler, through-type taillights, two exhaust outlets, and high-mounted brake lights are all present.
Interior options will include a head-up display, a wireless charging pad on the center console, a rectangular instrument panel, a floating 14.8-inch central control screen, and few conventional buttons. A Qualcomm 8155 chip will power the computer and offer FOTA, facial recognition, and a level 2+ driver assistance system. Additional options include a SONY audio sound system, heated/ventilated/massaging seats, and suede seats.
The four-spoke multipurpose steering wheel includes scroll wheels, is leather-wrapped, and has chrome-plated trim accents.
Two types of the Chery TJ-1 are anticipated to go on sale: the 1.6T+7DCT and the four-wheel drive plug-in hybrid 1.5T+DHT. At full fuel and full charge, the latter will have a complete cruising range of 1200 km and a pure electric cruising range of more than 100 km.
