Hyundai’s Genesis luxury brand is preparing an update for its large GV80 SUV – and it is slated to include a ‘Coupe’ model with a sloping rear roofline. The 2024 Genesis GV80 luxury SUV is due for a mid-life facelift in the next 12 months – which spy photos indicate will include a sportier-looking ‘Coupe’ variant.
The current GV80 range is powered by a choice of 224kW/422Nm 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol, 204kW/588Nm 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder turbo-diesel, and 279kW/530Nm 3.5-litre twin-turbo petrol V6 engines.
The 2024 Genesis GV80 facelift is expected to be revealed towards the end of this year – which would correlate to Australian showroom arrivals commencing next year.
To say that it was a leak would be an understatement, as the interior details were clearly visible.
This is probably the first time we’ve ever seen a spy shot that shows the interior design so clearly!
As expected, the GV80 F/L will see more changes inside than outside.
One of the main changes is the navigation system, which, as you can see in the photo, has a wide display like the ones used in recent Genesis and Suspension cars.
Rumor has it that it’s a 27-inch OLED monitor, and there’s even been an article about it, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
The steering wheel design has also changed.
Perhaps conscious of the much-maligned two-spoke wheels, they’ve gone to three-spoke wheels like the G70 (note that this is the regular model, not the coupe).
The dial gear design has also changed a bit.
UpaTV said that the dial gear design makes it easier to operate, and they were right.
There are many other changes, but the details will be better revealed after the release.
As a reminder, the GV80 F/L and Coupe designs are scheduled for press day next Tuesday and the public unveiling the following Wednesday.
