The GWM Tank 330 appeared in the 379th batch of new product announcement catalogs of the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). The price of the Tank 330 is targeted at above 350,000 yuan (48,800 USD).
It features a powerful 3.0T V6 engine and boasts a robust design suitable for off-road adventures. The Tank 330 is based on the design of the Tank 300 Frontier Limited Edition and includes features such as a rectangular grille, round headlights, metal front and rear protective bumpers, wide wheel arches, and roof luggage racks.
Additional functional features include iron pedals on the side skirts for easier access, cooling vents on the engine hood, and a square rear with “Tank 330” and “V6” logos. The vehicle is designed to handle challenging terrain with a wading depth of 900 mm, an approach angle of 36 degrees, and a departure angle of 37 degrees. It has a curb weight of 2480 kg and runs on 18-inch rims with 265/70R18 tires. Its power comes from a turbocharged V6 engine with 265 kW of power and 500 Nm of peak torque, paired with a four-wheel-drive system.
For comparison, the Tank 300, which the Tank 330 is based on, is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with an output of 167 kW (224 hp) and a peak torque of 380–387 Nm. It features three Eaton differential lockers and a low range gearbox, with a maximum speed of 170 km/h. The hybrid model of the Tank 300 combines a 2.0T engine with a 9-speed automatic transmission and transparent chassis technology, boasting a total system output of 258 kW (346 hp) and 615 Nm of torque.
The Tank 300 has received positive reviews for its combination of retro looks, luxurious cabin, and comprehensive specifications. It comes in several variants, including the Lux Hybrid and Ultra Hybrid, with features like 17-inch alloy wheels, auto-folding heated mirrors, LED headlights and tail lights, sunroof, tyre pressure monitoring, and advanced infotainment systems. The Ultra Hybrid adds features such as 18-inch alloy wheels, Nappa leather seats, heated and cooled front seats, and an upgraded sound system.
