Land Rover is still working on a sexier Defender model that may sport the company’s SVX performance badge. This is the model’s meanest appearance to date.
According to reports, the Defender SVX builds on the V8 variant to create a vehicle that is even more tough. There look to be bigger fascia openings up front to send more air to the more potent engine. A skid plate is visible behind the nose in these photos.
The fender flares seem to be a little wider than on the regular Defender V8. BFGoodrich Trail Terrain T/A tires are mounted on this SUV. Moreover, the riding height appears to be taller than the current model.
The Defender V8’s current design is mostly carried over to the rear. The four exhaust pipes that protrude from the back are still there, but their tips are now more angular.
An earlier rumor said that the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 from BMW might be used in the Defender SVX in place of the 5.0-liter supercharged V8 found in the Defender V8.
