Mercedes has officially launched the teaser campaign for the next-generation E-Class, codenamed W214. It takes after the EQE’s cabin, with slimmer outer air vents and a screen-heavy dashboard.
A selfie/video camera has been added to the upper area of the dashboard, and the driver’s eye movements are monitored to detect whether they are looking at the display on the right side of the dashboard.
The 2024 E-Class features dual light control technology to prevent videos from being seen peripherally by the driver, a camera to detect if the driver is looking at the passenger screen, and an optional ZYNC entertainment portal to provide access to video streaming, games, news, and additional on-demand content.
Active Ambient Lighting works together with the audio system to automatically change the lighting based on a song’s rhythm, and a Burmester surround sound system with 17 speakers and four sound transducers is standard equipment.
