- A new mass-market electric vehicle, Onvo L60, has been spotted in China, developed by Nio’s new brand, previously known as Alps (Chinese name: 乐道, Ledao).
- The Onvo L60 features a prominent watchtower suite of sensors at the top of the windshield and high-definition cameras, suggesting self-driving capabilities, mainly on highways.
- The L60 has a single motor, most likely on the rear axle, and is expected to be battery-swappable, with possible 60 or 90 kWh LFP batteries.
- The car is benchmarked against the Tesla Model Y, with a similar size, and will be priced approximately 10% lower.
- Trial production models were produced in October, and the Onvo L60 will be revealed mid-May, with deliveries starting in the fourth quarter.
