We expect the next-gen mid-size pickup to have a coil-spring rear suspension, a new engine, and looks inspired by the Tundra full-size truck.
Toyota will soon redesign the Tacoma mid-size pickup, and this is what we know about it so far.
It’s expected to have a new engine offering, likely a turbocharged four-cylinder, a new suspension setup, and an appearance inspired by the new Tundra.
We should know more about the new Tacoma next year, and it could arrive as a 2023 model.
In fresh spy pictures, a 2024 Toyota Tacoma is seen testing once more.
Toyota’s new midsize pickup truck was spotted testing again this week. The new Taco is expected to follow in the Tundra’s footsteps and be fitted with coil springs in the rear. A next-generation global Ford Ranger is due, and GM’s new Canyon and Colorado twins are on the way.
Spy photos show the interior of the next-generation Toyota Tacoma. The midsize truck has been out and about several times recently in heavy camouflage. The dashboard and instrument panel are hidden under a layer of cloth but still reveal key details of the interior. It will utilize a digital instrument cluster and receive a revised steering wheel design.
The new model places the shifter on the driver’s side of the console, with the handbrake next to the driver. An infotainment screen appears to show music playing from a smartphone or other external device.
Under the hood, the new truck is reported to offer two engine options. A 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder used in the 2023 Highlander and an electric-powered hybrid are among them.
