Spyshots of the Hyundai ST1’s sibling, the Kia PV5.
Kia is developing an electric PV5 van, set to launch later this year, offering various configurations and aiming to compete with Volkswagen’s ID.Buzz Cargo.
The PV5’s modular body sections, attached by mechanical couplings and electromagnetic fixture points, are noted for allowing customization, although it’s unclear if this will be a DIY option for owners or a factory-level configuration at the point of purchase.
KIA has unveiled a passenger-carrying Combi version and a paneled Van with rear double doors, with spy photos now surfacing of a more industrial chassis and cabin option.
These images hint at significant design changes, including a repositioning of the turn signals and a simplified lighting design that reflects the vehicle’s utilitarian focus.
The interior features a practical two-seat configuration with orange seatbelts and a large central screen, indicating that the industrial variant will not compromise on equipment and technology.
The full specifications of the KIA PV5 are anticipated to be revealed on February 27th, promising to expand the brand’s foothold in the electric vehicle market.
