Porsche 718 Boxster EV Spied
The 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman duo will switch to electric power for its next generation. Porsche previewed the Boxster EV with the Mission R Concept. The final production model may not make its debut until late 2023 or early 2024. Sales should begin for the 2025 model year.

2025 Porsche Boxster EV Shows Dual-Screen Dash Design
Although I have no idea how fast the prototype was driven prior to the shot being taken, it is noteworthy that the instrument cluster indicates the car is in Normal driving mode. Moreover, Porsche may be testing several battery packs for the Boxster EV, and this prototype may have a smaller pack. Not to mention, the outside temperature is 61.7 degrees Fahrenheit or 16.5 degrees Celsius.
Let’s discuss briefly about the center console of the car. A stack of five physical buttons can be found beneath the central screen, and farther down are the air vents and two USB Type C charging connections. Keep in mind that this isn’t the model’s final interior design. On a flat space below, a few more physical controls can be seen, some of which are handled by what appear to be capacitive touch buttons. It appears that the seats in this particular prototype are heated and ventilated.
Porsche has a new chassis for its upcoming tiny electric cars that the electric Boxster will ride on. In addition to possible hardware from the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE), which Porsche and Audi jointly developed for the Macan EV and Q6 E-Tron, some of its components will be shared with other vehicles.
According to the information we currently have, the Boxster EV will debut with a single electric motor mounted on the back axle. On whether we’ll see a more potent dual-motor model with AWD capability, the jury is yet out.
New Photos
The new Boxster is expected to have up to 600 CV and 500 km of autonomy and will be released in 2025 and will have two high-power electric motors.
A new design is visible, with four LED points in the headlights and a different brake system.
2025 Porsche 718 Boxster EV Prototype Caught Testing on the Nürburgring Nordschleife
The electric roadster probably uses a modified version of the PPE platform of its bigger brother, the Macan Electric. This means it features an 800-volt architecture and at least 400 horsepower in a dual-motor configuration. The most powerful Macan Electric is the Macan Turbo, with 630 horsepower, a power level we look up to for the electric 718 Boxster. With lower weight and an agile stance, the 718 Boxster Electric should be a beast on the race track, and we should have some Nürburgring records soon.
