New reports from Japanese Media states the next Toyota GR86 won’t arrive until 2028. But, this next generation will be cutting ties with Subaru, ending their longly joint relationship. It’s unclear what the future holds for the Subaru BRZ but, we know for sure the GR86 is safe and won’t be facing full electrification nor discontinuation. It’s unclear what engine the next-generation GR86 will use. As BestCar claimed earlier that it will use a 1.6L Turbocharged 3-Cylinder and would arrive in 2025. However, Mag-X claims there will be a 1.4L Turbocharged 3-Cylinder with electrification and will be on a completely new platform.
