2026 Bovensiepen Zagato

Bovensiepen Zagato 2026 Caught Testing

One-offs and ultra-limited cars rarely appear in spy photos, but the first creation under the new Bovensiepen brand — the spiritual successor to ALPINA — has broken cover. Under the scorching sun of southern Europe, the 2026 Bovensiepen Zagato has been spotted undergoing road testing, revealing virtually all of its aggressive design in full view.

Bold Styling with a Clear ALPINA Legacy

There’s little left to the imagination with this prototype. Based on the BMW M4 Coupé, the Bovensiepen Zagato retains the familiar proportions and chassis layout but wears an entirely bespoke body. Notably, it ditches BMW’s controversial kidney grille in favor of a cleaner, trapezoidal design — a nod to classic ALPINA styling cues — now integrated subtly into the front bumper.

The front end features bold new air intakes, aggressive LED headlights, and a completely reworked front fascia that leans heavily into motorsport-inspired design. The grille itself may be smaller, but the presence of this car is anything but.

Iconic Zagato Touches and Aerodynamic Enhancements

The Zagato influence is clear: the double-bubble roof is a signature element, as are the sweeping curves and hand-sculpted surfaces. Deep air curtains in the front fenders, razor-sharp side skirts, and discreet gills at the rear corners provide both form and function.

Large, intricately designed alloy wheels fill out the arches, backed by perforated brake discs front and rear. The rear end takes things even further with OLED taillights sourced from the M4 CSL, an all-new quad-exhaust insert, and a prominent rear diffuser that leaves no doubt about the car’s performance intentions.

611 Horsepower, Rear-Wheel Drive — No Hybrid Assistance

While many performance brands are heading toward hybrid or electrified assistance, Bovensiepen is keeping things old school — and purist. Power comes from a tuned version of BMW’s 3.0-liter inline-six TwinPower Turbo engine, producing a potent 611 horsepower, all sent to the rear wheels only. No hybrid tech here, just raw combustion power refined to its absolute limits.

With that level of output, the Bovensiepen Zagato is expected to comfortably exceed 300 km/h (186 mph), promising a truly visceral experience for the lucky few who will get behind the wheel.

A New Chapter After ALPINA

While now officially under BMW Group ownership, the Bovensiepen name — long associated with ALPINA’s legacy — signals a more exclusive, high-performance future. This car isn’t just an M4 with new clothes; it’s a reimagination, targeting ultra-high-end customers seeking rarity, craftsmanship, and speed in equal measure.

Pricing? Still unknown. But with its bespoke bodywork, hand-finished detailing, and limited production, don’t expect it to come cheap.
