A new generation of the BYD Atto 3 electric SUV has been spotted testing with minimal camouflage, indicating that it is nearing its launch date.
The vehicle, known as the BYD Yuan Max in China, is expected to be larger than the current Atto 3, with a length of 4455mm, positioning it competitively in the medium SUV segment.
The design evolves from the current Atto 3, maintaining familiar styling cues while introducing a more minimalist interior.
The Yuan Max is speculated to share dimensions with the Sealion 5 and may offer a compact third row of seating in some markets.
Powertrain details are yet to be confirmed, but it is anticipated to use BYD’s latest EV technology, with potential for a flagship 250kW motor version.
The rapid development of the Atto 3 replacement underscores BYD’s aggressive strategy to become a top-selling brand in 2026.
