Spy photos have surfaced showing Chery’s new iCar V25 SUV undergoing road tests in China. This model is expected to be larger than the current V23 and is rumored to feature an extended-range powertrain, though the name V25 is not officially confirmed.
The V25 test vehicle exhibits a design similar to the V23 but with a more prominent SUV silhouette, increased dimensions, and higher ground clearance.
The presence of a fuel filler door and temporary exhaust outlet, along with stickers indicating an extended-range system, suggests a departure from the battery-electric setup of the V23. The interior, while similar to the V23, is not finalized.
Speculative reports from Chinese media hint at powertrain specifications similar to the iCar V27’s extended-range system, which combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with an electric motor, offering both rear- and four-wheel-drive options with substantial combined output and driving range.
