2026 Genesis G90 Facelift Begins Testing with Neolun-Inspired Design Cues

Genesis is wasting no time in preparing an updated version of its flagship luxury sedan. Slated for a 2026 debut, the facelifted G90 could usher in a new design era for the brand — one that draws heavily from the futuristic Neolun concept, which also teases the upcoming GV90 electric SUV. Our colleagues at KindelAuto have captured the first test mule of the revised G90 undergoing trials in California, giving us an early glimpse at what’s to come.

Bolder, More Sophisticated Exterior

The next G90 is expected to receive a comprehensive styling update, headlined by a wider, more assertive front grille and reshaped headlamps. This echoes the recent facelift applied to the GV80, which introduced a shallower grille, sleeker detailing, and concealed exhaust tips — all intended to create a more modern and elegant profile.

Though camouflaged, the G90 test vehicle suggests subtle reshaping to the front and rear, signaling Genesis’s continued move toward a more minimalist, high-tech aesthetic.

Tech-Rich Interior with OLED Integration

Inside, the G90 may receive the latest 27-inch OLED display setup, blending the digital gauge cluster and infotainment system into one seamless panel. This ultra-high-resolution interface, first seen in the refreshed GV80, not only enhances usability but also elevates the cabin’s premium feel.

Additional improvements are expected in terms of materials, ambient lighting, and user interaction, as Genesis continues to refine its in-car experience to rival top-tier German competitors.

Performance and Powertrain Updates

While no engine specs have been confirmed, the facelift could bring powertrain revisions similar to those seen in the GV80. That model now features a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-4 with 304 hp, and a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 producing 380 hp — both possible candidates for the G90 lineup as well.

However, speculation remains around the potential debut of Genesis’s upcoming hybrid powertrain, which could find its way into the G90 as part of the company’s gradual shift toward electrification. If introduced, it would mark the model’s first foray into electrified propulsion beyond the full-electric G90 long-wheelbase concept.

Advanced Driver Assistance and Safety Tech

Genesis is expected to outfit the new G90 with the latest in driver assistance systems. This will likely include features such as:

  • Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist
  • Remote Smart Parking Assist
  • Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control
  • AI-enhanced infotainment personalization

These systems are already becoming standard across the Genesis range, and their inclusion will further cement the G90’s status as a high-tech flagship.

A Flagship to Watch

As Genesis refines its design language and continues to push into ultra-luxury territory, the facelifted G90 is shaping up to be more than a simple mid-cycle refresh. With styling inspired by the Neolun concept, next-gen tech like OLED interfaces and possibly a new hybrid drivetrain, the 2026 G90 is poised to reinforce the brand’s position among the top-tier players in the luxury sedan space.

Expect a formal debut sometime in mid-to-late 2025, with market launch to follow in early 2026.

New Photo

This is the G90 facelift.

The new wing face is finally being applied to the front lol
But it looks slightly different from the Gran Coupe unveiled at the Seoul Mobility Show, doesn’t it?

Showcasing a sleek, electric-electric front end with a grilleless design
You can see that the bumper shape has become slightly larger to accommodate the intake as the intake position has been moved to the bottom lol

On the side, will a camera be added to the side repeater area?
Anyway, since the form is still unfinished, it seems there is still room for improvement!

The wheels have increased in size to 22 inches, and the wheel pattern features a spoke configuration that appears more organically connected, giving it a luxurious yet dynamic look.

As for the rear, as you can see in the G90 facelift video I captured and uploaded for the first time in Korea, I mentioned that it would feature perfect two-line taillights, and you can definitely see them now haha.
