2026 Genesis GV60 Sport(GV60 Magma)

Genesis GV60 Sport Spied Testing Near the Nürburgring, Promising High-Performance Electric SUV

Genesis, the luxury brand of the Hyundai Group, has been spotted testing a high-performance version of its GV60 electric SUV near the iconic Nürburgring circuit in Germany. The South Korean automaker, known for its commitment to sportiness, aims to capture the attention of Asian, German, and British customers with this new offering, which will be the smallest model in its lineup to receive a performance upgrade.

The Genesis GV60 Sport, as it is expected to be called, was caught on camera wearing aggressive clothing reminiscent of the GV60 Magma Concept, which previously hinted at a more performance-oriented variant. Interestingly, the spy photos reveal that Genesis has opted to retain the striking orange color showcased on the concept.

At first glance, this initial mule of the sportiest GV60 does not exhibit significant visual differences compared to the standard versions of the electric SUV. The front bumper remains unchanged, but a closer look at the sides reveals eye-catching orange brake calipers bearing the same lettering as found on the most high-performance Hyundai models.

Another clear indication that this Genesis GV60 is no ordinary variant is its extremely low ride height, with the body practically touching the asphalt. The vehicle is also equipped with Pirelli P Zero tires, further emphasizing its performance credentials. While the rear spoiler remains the same as the standard model, it is expected that a more distinctive design will be introduced as development progresses.

Under the hood, the Genesis GV60 Sport is likely to share the same powertrain configuration as the Hyundai IONIQ 5N, featuring two potent electric motors. With a maximum power output potentially exceeding 650 horsepower, the GV60 Sport is set to be even more premium and powerful than its Hyundai counterpart. The electric SUV is expected to offer a range of around 500 kilometers, thanks to its 84 kWh lithium-ion battery.

As development has only recently begun, the Genesis GV60 Sport is not expected to hit the market until 2026. This timeline allows the automaker ample opportunity to fine-tune the vehicle’s performance and design, ensuring that it meets the high expectations of luxury car enthusiasts seeking an exhilarating electric driving experience.

The arrival of the Genesis GV60 Sport in 2026 marks an exciting new chapter for the brand, as it expands its offerings in the rapidly growing electric vehicle segment. With its powerful performance, striking design, and premium features, the GV60 Sport is poised to make a strong impression on the market and further establish Genesis as a formidable player in the luxury electric SUV space.
