Hyundai has unveiled its new Ioniq 3 electric hatchback, featuring a distinctive design that uses Morse Code dots to represent the letter “H” in place of a traditional badge.

Key Details:

  • Design: Styled with Hyundai’s new ‘Art of Steel’ language, featuring pixel lighting and four central dots spelling “H” in Morse Code; unveiled at Milan Design Week
  • Platform: Built on the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) with a 400V architecture, sharing underpinnings with the Kia EV3
  • Power & Range: 147hp front-wheel-drive motor; two battery options — 42.2kWh Standard Range (213 miles WLTP) and 61kWh Long Range (308 miles WLTP)
  • Charging: 10–80% DC fast charge in ~29 minutes; 22kW AC charging capability
  • Efficiency: Class-leading drag coefficient of 0.263
  • Interior: Flat-floor five-seat cabin with 441-litre boot, a Ford Puma-style ‘Megabox’ under-floor storage, and top-spec Relaxation Seats with heating and ventilation
  • Tech: Hyundai with the Android-based Pleos Connect infotainment system (12.9" or 14.6" screen), digital key support, and vehicle-to-load capability
  • Rivals: Positioned against the Cupra Born and Volkswagen ID.3

Why It Matters: The Ioniq 3 enters a competitive segment with a strong blend of range, efficiency, practicality, and tech — while its Morse Code branding gives it a genuinely distinctive identity on the road.
