Lexus has been readying an all new LFA successor for quite a while now, now the highly anticipated model has been spied while being tested in one of Japan’s closed track . It’s expected to be powered by a twin turbo V8 which will churn out 710 horsepower paired to an electric motor producing a combined power output of 937 horsepower.
Lexus has yet to announce a name but it has trademarked ‘LFR’, which would reflect the car’s positioning as an LFA successor, as well as its high-performance billing.
The 2027 Lexus LFR is an upcoming supercar that is poised to fill the void left by the discontinuation of the Lexus RC and LC coupes.
Drawing inspiration from the GR GT3 concept, the LFR is anticipated to be a high-performance vehicle with a possible V-8 engine, offering a blend of track-ready features and road-going practicality.
Lexus has hinted at the LFR’s design through the Sport Concept unveiled in Monterey, which shares proportions with the GR GT3.
The LFR is expected to carry a Lexus badge in the US and may feature a V-8 engine with over 500 horsepower, drawing from the RC F GT3’s powertrain.
While the race car is slated for a 2026 debut, the street-legal model is likely to follow, with a potential price tag significantly higher than the current Lexus RC F and LC500 models.
