The future electric Mercedes-AMG GLA has already been hunted.
The GLA EQ will have more power than the GLA 45 AMG (550 vs 421 CV) and a range of up to 700 km.
The new model will use novedosos motores eléctricos de flujo axial and a 100 kWh battery. It will be able to charge to 80% in less than 15 minutes with a 300 kW on-board charger.
The new model will have a more aggressive look, with a lower ride height and wider wheel arches. Available in mid-2026.

The upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLA, set to debut for the 2026 model year, is currently undergoing testing with visible styling updates that distinguish it from its predecessor.

The design appears to draw inspiration from the GLC, particularly with the daytime running light strip. Despite the camouflage, the vehicle’s silhouette suggests a shape similar to the current GLA, with a cautious approach to size increase to avoid overlap with the next-gen GLB.
The new GLA will be based on the MMA platform, shared with the latest CLA, promising a refined driving experience and potentially an identical interior layout, including a large display spanning from pillar to pillar on higher trims.
The electric version, slated for a 2026 release, will boast an 800-volt architecture and a dual-motor setup with around 350 horsepower, while hybrid variants are expected a year later with a smaller battery and 48-volt technology.
The gasoline-powered models will likely use a 1.5-liter engine with mild-hybrid assistance, offering different power levels for front-wheel and all-wheel-drive configurations.
Pricing for the new GLA is anticipated to be higher than the current model, which starts at $41,500 for the GLA 250.
Mercedes is advancing the development of its electric vehicles, with the upcoming Mercedes GLA 2026 recently spotted in a sporty AMG Line configuration.
Despite not being the high-performance AMG version, this compact SUV features design elements like a front grille similar to the electric GLC, AMG-style wheels, and a pronounced rear spoiler.
The vehicle is expected to offer both hybrid and fully electric variants, with the electric version boasting up to 354 CV and a range of nearly 720 kilometers on a single charge, and the hybrid variant with up to 190 CV and all-wheel drive, set to debut by mid-2027.
The GLA was photographed near the Nürburgring circuit, indicating final testing phases before the track’s seasonal closure.
