Xiaomi’s third EV model, the YU9, is undergoing high-altitude testing in Xinjiang, China, with the company’s CEO and executives on-site, indicating the vehicle’s advanced development stage and potential features such as a range-extended hybrid powertrain and LiDAR technology.
Xiaomi is launching Sky Nomad, a new auto sub-brand, with its first full-size SUV called the N90—an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) designed for outdoor enthusiasts with a streamlined rooftop tent.

Unlike the all-electric SU7 and YU7, Xiaomi’s flagship SUV is expected to use an extended-range (EREV) powertrain. Reports suggest it will pair a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine acting as a generator with dual electric motors producing around 500 hp. Electric-only range is estimated at 400–500 km, while total driving range could reach 1,500 km (CLTC).
A full reveal is expected later this year.
