Audi SQ3 Spotted for the First Time — 300+ HP Coming
Audi is finally making an SQ3, and the first prototype has now been spotted testing almost completely undisguised.
Surprisingly, the Q3 has never had an S version before. Previous generations jumped straight from the regular Q3 to the RS Q3, but with the RS currently absent from the latest generation, Audi looks ready to fill that gap with the first-ever SQ3.
The prototype gets the expected S line styling and quad exhaust tips, while the chassis should receive its own sportier setup. Under the hood, it’s expected to use a 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and quattro AWD.
Power hasn’t been confirmed, but it should comfortably clear 300 hp, with around 333 hp looking plausible given that the same engine family produces that figure in the Cupra Formentor. That would also leave plenty of room above it for a potential return of the 400-hp RS Q3.
The SQ3 is expected to reach Europe in the second half of 2027.
Honestly, a 330-ish hp Q3 might be the sweet spot between the regular model and a full RS. Would you take this over an X1 M35i or AMG GLA 35?
