A camouflaged Hongqi off-road SUV, the brand’s inaugural venture into the off-road electric vehicle market, has been observed undergoing winter testing.
This new model boasts a traditional boxy SUV design, incorporating Hongqi’s signature large front grille and advanced features such as roof-mounted lidar.
The vehicle’s performance specifications include four electric motors, a sub-4-second 0 to 100 km/h acceleration, and three differential locks.
Consumers will have the option to customize their SUV through five configuration categories. The vehicle was previously showcased at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, and a public naming contest has narrowed down potential names, with “Mountains and Rivers” leading the vote.
The Hongqi P567, a new off-road SUV codenamed for its internal development, is set to make its official debut at the Beijing Auto Show 2026 on April 24.
This 5.1-meter vehicle features a 2-liter turbocharged range extender and four electric motors with a combined peak power of 620 kW (831 hp), offering a 0–100 km/h acceleration in 4.5 seconds and a 280 km electric range under CLTC conditions.
The P567 also boasts a 1,350 km mixed driving range and differential locks for enhanced off-road capability.
Its design includes a boxy silhouette, large wheel arches, a flat roofline, and a swing-out trunk door. The interior features a large central touchscreen, a three-spoke steering wheel, and wireless phone chargers.
With a wheelbase of 2,900 mm and dimensions of 5135/2050/1950 mm, the P567 is positioned to enter the growing Chinese market for plug-in hybrid off-road SUVs, competing with brands like BYD, GWM, and Chery.
