2027 Lexus TZ

Lexus is expected to launch the TZ, a fully electric three-row luxury SUV, built on the same platform as the 2027 Toyota electric Highlander, with two powertrain variants trademarked as the TZ 450e and TZ 550e.

Key Details:

  • The “T” prefix denotes Lexus’s large three-row SUV family (established by the TX), while “Z” signals a fully electric powertrain, making “TZ” the logical name for an electric three-row SUV.
  • The TZ will mirror the TX/Grand Highlander relationship, sharing a modified TNGA-K platform with the 2027 Toyota Highlander, Toyota’s first three-row BEV for the U.S. market.
  • The TZ 450e is expected to be the entry model, likely offering around 275–338 hp from a 95.8-kWh dual-motor AWD setup with an estimated 320-mile range.
  • The TZ 550e could produce around 420 hp, drawing on tuning seen in the platform-sharing 2027 Subaru Getaway, which achieves 0–60 mph in under five seconds.
  • Design cues may be drawn from Lexus’s 2021 Electric Crossover Concept, which shares notable proportional similarities with the new Toyota Highlander.
  • A reveal is anticipated in mid-2026, with an on-sale date of 2027, roughly one model year after the Highlander’s late 2026 launch.

Why It Matters: The Lexus TZ would represent the brand’s most significant EV launch to date, combining three-row practicality, luxury credentials, and a broad powertrain range to compete seriously in the premium electric

The Leuxs TZ Was spied testing alongside a Nissan X-Trail, which is kind of odd since the Japanese rival is a compact model and also doesn’t have EV power under the hood. Anyway, back to the upcoming 2027 Lexus TZ, this is the first glimpse of the all-new EV that will seat up to seven people on three rows and act as the premium counterpart of the newly revealed Toyota Highlander EV and Subaru Getaway
