Mahindra’s Thar facelift has been spotted testing once again ahead of what could be its debut on August 14, just before India’s Independence Day celebrations. The latest prototype reveals a new dual-tone alloy wheel design, adding to growing evidence that the refreshed off-roader is nearing production.
The facelift is expected to adopt several styling cues from the larger Thar Roxx, including round LED projector headlights with C-shaped DRLs, a redesigned grille, a new front bumper, LED fog lights, and updated LED taillights. The overall look remains unmistakably Thar but with a more modern and rugged appearance.
Inside, Mahindra is expected to significantly upgrade the cabin with features such as a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a Harman Kardon audio system, and—judging by the latest test mule—a front camera that could support ADAS.
Powertrain options are likely to remain unchanged, with buyers choosing between a 1.5-liter diesel, 2.0-liter turbo gasoline, and 2.2-liter turbo diesel engines. Six-speed manual and automatic transmissions are expected to continue, with 4WD remaining available on selected variants.
If Mahindra follows its recent tradition of unveiling major Thar models around Independence Day, the facelift could make its official debut on August 14, 2026.
