2027 Volkswagen ID.1

The VW ID.1 is poised to make its debut as a concept car on March 5th, marking Volkswagen’s re-entry into the A-segment with a fully electric vehicle.

The ID.1 is expected to be an affordable, high-quality model, with a projected price of approximately 20,000 Euros, aimed at the European market.

It will be based on a simplified version of the MEB platform, which is currently used in models like the ID.3 and ID.4, and will feature front-wheel drive to maximize cargo space.

The design of the ID.1 appears to draw inspiration from the ID.Life concept, with distinctive round headlights and a lit VW logo, although not connected to the headlights by a light band.

The vehicle’s dimensions are anticipated to be compact, likely exceeding the length of the VW Up, and the design is expected to be suitable for urban environments with regular, vertical surfaces for optimal space perception.

While specific details about the powertrain and battery range are yet to be disclosed, the ID.1 is expected to offer a range between 200 and 400 kilometers, aligning with its intended use as a city car.
