Bentley introduced the Bentayga X Concept earlier this year to gauge interest in a more off-road-focused version of its luxury SUV. Now a prototype has been spotted testing, suggesting the idea could make it into production.
The test car has chunky all-terrain tires, black 22-inch forged wheels, wider arches, and underbody protection. For reference, Bentley quoted a 55 mm suspension lift, 310 mm of ground clearance, and a 550 mm wading depth for the concept. Production specs are still unconfirmed.
The concept was based on the Bentayga Speed, with a 650 PS twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, an eight-speed automatic, and all-wheel drive.
Bentley hasn’t confirmed a launch, but its North American dealer network has reportedly been pushing for a limited production run.
I’m into it. A Bentley on chunky tires has a lot more personality than another blacked-out appearance package. Anyone else hoping they actually build this?
