Electric BMW X5 M spotted testing, rumored to offer 800–900 hp
BMW’s upcoming electric X5 M has been spotted testing again. Potentially badged iX5 M, it would give buyers a fully electric alternative to the next combustion-powered X5 M.
The prototype features redesigned front and rear bumpers, revised air intakes and model-specific wheels. Upgraded brakes and a sportier suspension setup are also expected, although the camouflage still hides some details.
Rumors point to around 800–900 hp, but BMW hasn’t confirmed the motor configuration or output. The combustion version, meanwhile, could adopt the M5’s plug-in hybrid twin-turbo V8 powertrain.
A reveal could happen in 2027 or 2028, with production reportedly targeted for 2028. Both the timing and specifications remain unconfirmed.
