2028 Jeep Gladiator

The next-generation Jeep Gladiator, due in 2028, is poised for a significant shift towards electrification. Recent UAW documents have inadvertently confirmed that both the Gladiator and its Wrangler sibling will offer battery-electric and range-extender powertrains.

Our exclusive images preview how the new Gladiator might look, blending Jeep’s iconic design language with modern EV styling cues. The familiar seven-slot grille remains, now flanked by a full-width light bar and Matrix LED headlamps. A more aerodynamic profile and longer load bed suggest improved practicality and efficiency.

The 2028 Gladiator is expected to utilise Stellantis’ new STLA Frame platform, shared with the upcoming Ram 1500 REV. This should ensure the pick-up retains Jeep’s legendary off-road capability while accommodating large battery packs.

Two powertrain options are anticipated: a pure EV with a range of up to 500 miles, and a range-extender variant (REPB) featuring a small combustion engine as a generator. The all-electric model could offer up to 641bhp, drawing inspiration from Jeep’s Magneto 3.0 concept.

Key rivals will include the Rivian R1T and potentially the Fisker Alaska, alongside larger electric pick-ups like the Ford F-150 Lightning and Tesla Cybertruck.

Production is slated to begin in early 2028 at Stellantis’ Toledo, Ohio plant, with an official reveal expected in late 2027.
