Aston Martin Valen Is an 850-HP V12 Monster With a 214-MPH Top Speed

The 150-car special packs Aston Martin’s most powerful front-mounted V12 yet, drops as much as 243 pounds, and hits 60 mph in 3.0 seconds.


























Aston Martin isn’t ready to let its front-engined V12 supercar fade quietly into history. In fact, it just turned the formula up another notch.

Meet the Aston Martin Valen, a new limited-production special from Q by Aston Martin and the company’s newly formed Special Vehicle Operations department. With 850 metric horsepower, a 214-mph top speed, extensive carbon-fiber bodywork, and production capped at just 150 cars, the Valen sits at the extreme end of Aston Martin’s traditional front-engine, rear-drive playbook.

And yes, the name follows Aston’s long-running obsession with the letter V. Valen comes from the Latin valens, referring to strength or power—a fitting choice considering what’s hiding beneath that long hood.

850 PS, 738 LB-FT, and 214 MPH

At the heart of the Valen is Aston Martin’s 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12, tuned here to produce 850 PS and 1,000 Nm of torque, or roughly 838 hp and 738 lb-ft. Peak torque arrives from just 2,500 rpm.

Power reaches the rear wheels through an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, but this isn’t simply the gearbox calibration from another Aston. Engineers borrowed shift strategies developed for the Vantage GT4 race car to sharpen gear changes across every drive mode.

The result is a claimed 0–60-mph time of 3.0 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited to 214 mph.

Drivers get Sport, Sport+, and Track modes, with separate throttle calibrations for each. Sport and Sport+ use a shorter pedal map for more immediate response, while Track stretches out the throttle progression to give the driver finer control when approaching the car’s limits.

Aston Martin Put the Valen on a Serious Diet

Power is only part of the story. Aston Martin says the Valen can shed as much as 110 kg, or about 243 pounds, compared with its core V12 platform.

Carbon fiber, aluminum, titanium, and magnesium are used throughout the car. An optional lightweight package goes further with machined-from-solid aluminum suspension arms and knuckles plus titanium chassis bolts, cutting another 16.9 kg, or about 37 pounds.

Lightweight magnesium wheels come standard and wear Valen-specific Pirelli P Zero R tires measuring 275/35 ZR21 up front and 325/30 ZR21 at the rear. The tires also incorporate Pirelli Cyber Tyre technology, feeding real-time tire data into the car’s electronic stability, ABS, and traction-control systems.

Aston Martin didn’t stop with weight reduction. The Valen gets model-specific springs, helper springs, a solid-mounted rear subframe, and Bilstein DTX semi-active dampers. Engineers also recalibrated the steering, ESP, brakes, suspension geometry, and damping to make the car respond like something smaller and lighter.

Carbon-ceramic brakes measure a substantial 410 mm up front and 360 mm at the rear.

A V12 That Breathes Through Titanium

Then there’s the exhaust.

A lightweight titanium system uses four outlets arranged as two upper and two lower pipes. The upper outlets remain permanently open, while valves control the lower pair according to drive mode.

Even the exhaust finishers get exotic treatment: They’re 3D-printed from titanium. Aston Martin says engineers reduced some of the lower-frequency sound while emphasizing higher frequencies, with the upper outlets tuned almost like organ pipes to increase resonance as engine speed climbs.

In an era when increasingly complicated sound enhancement is becoming part of the performance-car experience, there’s something refreshingly old-school about Aston Martin engineering actual exhaust pipes to make an 850-PS V12 sound better.

This Is Not Just Another DBS

Visually, the Valen makes little effort to disguise its intent.

Its entire body is carbon fiber, but the proportions still unmistakably follow Aston Martin’s classic front-engine template. Slim headlights sit deep beneath the leading edge of the hood, while a more angular grille, aggressive splitter, and heavily sculpted surfaces make the nose considerably more menacing than Aston’s regular production cars.

Large functional vents behind the front wheels extract air from the wheel arches, while stepped side sills pinch the waist between swollen front and rear fenders. Sawtooth vortex generators at the trailing edges of the sills manage airflow beneath the car to reduce lift and generate downforce.

The rear is even more unusual. Aston Martin has ditched the conventional rear glass and trunk arrangement for a solid tailgate incorporating an aerodynamic wing. Despite the extreme bodywork, there’s still a 170-liter luggage compartment, and buyers can order a fitted Touring Pack luggage set.

A full-width light bar sits beneath an upswept tail that doubles as a Gurney flap, generating downforce without resorting to a giant fixed rear wing.

Buyers who really want to advertise the Valen’s construction can specify a fully exposed carbon-fiber body. Aston Martin aligns the weave in a herringbone pattern along the centerline, and Q can tint the exposed carbon in multiple colors with either satin or gloss finishes.

The Cabin Gets the Lightweight Treatment, Too

The interior follows the same philosophy, although Aston Martin hasn’t stripped it into a bare-bones track car.

A slim center console uses 3D-printed components and incorporates the performance-oriented switchgear first seen in the Valhalla. The console angles toward the driver, while the central touchscreen is reclined more steeply to integrate with the pared-back dashboard.
Buyers can choose between Sports Plus seats designed to retain long-distance comfort and more aggressive lightweight carbon-fiber performance seats. Upholstery choices include Semi-Aniline leather and Alcantara or full Semi-Aniline leather, along with several color and material layouts and extensive Q personalization.

Only 150 Will Exist

Aston Martin will build just 150 examples of the Valen, keeping it firmly in the territory of the company’s previous ultra-limited specials rather than turning it into another regular production derivative.

First deliveries are scheduled for the second quarter of 2027.
