Cupra is preparing to introduce the Raval, a new compact electric model that marks the beginning of its next product phase. Built on the Volkswagen Group’s upgraded MEB+ platform, the Raval adopts a front-wheel-drive layout and focuses on delivering a more engaging driving experience than typically found in its segment. Despite measuring just over four metres in length, the model has been engineered to offer generous cabin space and a practical cargo area, making it suitable for both city use and longer journeys.
The Raval will be the first vehicle in the Group’s upcoming Electric Urban Car family, a programme led by Cupra that aims to broaden access to electric mobility across Europe. Production will begin in Martorell ahead of the model’s market launch in 2026.
True to Cupra’s emphasis on performance, the Raval features a lower sport chassis, revised suspension, progressive steering and an ESC Sport mode. Adaptive dampers further refine the setup by adjusting between comfort-oriented and more dynamic characteristics. The top-tier VZ variant increases capability with stiffer DCC Sport suspension, wider tracks, 19-inch wheels, larger tyres and an electronically controlled differential designed to improve traction and stability.
Cupra plans to offer several trims with different performance and range combinations. At launch, three editions will be available. The VZ Extreme delivers 166 kW and a projected range of about 400 km, focusing on maximum performance with sustainability-minded materials. The Dynamic Plus produces 155 kW and aims to balance comfort and technology, offering longer range, advanced driver assistance features, parking functions and a 12-speaker audio system developed with Sennheiser Mobility. The Dynamic trim offers the same battery technology and estimated 450 km range in a more accessible configuration.
Pricing for the entry model is expected to begin at €26,000 when full details are announced in 2026.
The model’s name pays tribute to Barcelona’s El Raval district, a neighbourhood known for its energy and unconventional character—qualities Cupra aims to reflect in the vehicle’s design and identity.
Cupra recently passed the milestone of one million vehicles produced since its establishment in 2018, recording strong growth in electric models led by the Tavascan and Born. The addition of the Raval is expected to reinforce the brand’s position within the electric vehicle market.
