Porsche enthusiast and designer Luca Trazzi has realized his dream of a 911 Speedster through Porsche’s Sonderwunsch programme. This one-off car, based on a 1994 911 Carrera Cabriolet (Type 993), took over three years to create and fills a gap in the 911 model history.
Trazzi, a Speedster collector, wanted to unify stylistic elements from all previous Speedster models in his design. The project began with a visit to Porsche’s archives and Trazzi’s own sketches. He was actively involved throughout the creation process, working closely with Porsche’s design team.
Key features of the car include:
- A unique rear lid and shortened windscreen
- Custom ‘Otto Yellow’ paint, named after Trazzi’s dog
- Black 18-inch light alloy wheels with yellow finelines
- Black leather interior with yellow stitching and check pattern seat centers
- Carbon elements on the dashboard, center console, and seat backs
- Illuminated carbon door sill trims
- Modern infotainment system with individualized start screen
The car is powered by a 3.8-liter engine from the 911 Carrera RS (Type 993), producing 300 PS. It also features chassis, steering, and brake systems from the same model.
This Speedster is only the third of its kind based on the 993 generation, following one made for Ferdinand Alexander Porsche in 1995 and another for an American customer in 2001.
The Sonderwunsch programme allows for the creation of individualized, one-off cars for road-approved Porsche vehicles of all ages. The process involves close collaboration between the customer and Porsche’s design and engineering teams.
